The educational aim of this department is to provide basic training in philosophy and applications in life education and social practices. The curriculum provides professional training in traditional philosophy and life education, with an emphasis on applied courses for practical learning. The interdisciplinary program includes the integration and application of philosophy and related fields. The department encourages students to take an interdisciplinary study to enhance their employability and competitiveness.

本系設立宗旨為倡導人本價值、人性關懷與人文精神，
The educational aim of the department is to promote human values, human caring, and humanistic spirit, to enhance the quality of life and ensure a peaceful death. Senior End-of-life care professionals are nurtured to help promote the establishment of a certification system for enhancing service standards. Teaching and research focus primarily on “health, aging, sickness, and death” and related topics, to train professional etiquette teachers and social work professionals of Thanatology. The Master Program trains talents in various professional fields, including sophisticated postgraduate studies of Thanatology. After a full training course, students will meet the qualifications to sit for counseling psychology exams.

本系以傳統中國文學研究為基礎，
This department has developed a full range of literature topics and contemporary studies based on traditional Chinese literature research, to create a fusion of Chinese and Western cultures and an international perspective on literary studies.
The curriculum includes the study of classical, modern and contemporary literature, professional theory and application courses, and the implementation of applied narrative writing, literary creation, cultural creativity, and academic vision, to cultivate talents with accomplishments, virtues, and capabilities in literary writing and theory. Furthermore, the collaboration of industry, government, and academia enhances students’ employability and competitiveness.
宗教學研究所
Graduate Institute of Religious Studies

本所旨在透過宗教學與佛學結合現代學術理論與佛教等宗教傳統，
The educational aims of the institute are to promote local, regional, and global religious academic research by combining religious studies with modern academic theory and religious traditions, and to implement religious studies on topics of concern in modern life. The religious study group covers cosmopolitan, local or traditional, and modern studies of various religions, while the Buddhism group uses traditional Indian Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism as focuses of study to emphasize the rooting and nurturing of classical languages.

Department of Early Childhood Education

本系旨在培育兼具人文素養及幼教專業知能的幼兒教育人員，
The educational aims of this department are to nurture early childhood educators in professional knowledge of humanities and early childhood education, and to cultivate talents in preschool education academic research. The complete curriculum gives students more diverse employment opportunities, in addition to training professional competence and academic research skills. The graduates gain an excellent foundation in the field of early childhood education and related industries, such as early intervention institutions, special education services, kindergartens primary child care professionals or teachers, after-school tutoring agencies, and child welfare agencies. Further studies, academic research, and teaching work have had excellent performances.

Department of Foreign Languages and Literature

「文學生活化」、「語言理論實務化」是本系教學特色，
The department’s teaching characteristics are literary life and language theory in practice. The curriculum focuses on literature and language and includes multi-elective courses for second language and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Small classes with advanced European multimedia and digital language equipment are adopted for spoken English training and English writing courses. The department allows students to apply what they have learned through English competitions, graduation projects, graduation performance, as well as off-campus internships. Therefore, the students with excellent foreign language skills have a strong competitive edge in any industry and workplace.
